IEYDA calls for urgent support for Ilorin rainstorm victims

A call has gone to the National Emergency Management Agency, the federal government, and the Kwara state to assist and provide temporary measures to victims of yesterday’s heavy rainfall in Ilorin, the state capital.
This is contained in a statement made available to this medium Just Event Online by the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association signed by the National President, Alh Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen, and the National Publicity Secretary, Alh Mohammed Jagunma in Ilorin.
The statement said the call became necessary especially during this period that coronavirus pandemic as paralyzed business activities in the country.
The Ilorin Emirate Youth advised the state government, cooperate organizations, and individuals to urgently make provisions for those affected by the heavy rainfall because the incident has made them homeless.
The IEYDA urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Ecological Fund, and related agencies to be proactive in tackling the menace of flooding in the country.
